Title: password too short

how do i bypass "password too short".

please no opinions just answers. thanks.

That link is for installation password changing. Mines installed already. Here's what I've done:
sudo su -i

Then insert password, then type passwd, then change password to my length  of password. It takes it but next time it still has old password. It stated password was changed.

It depends what password you'd like to change: your or root?
If you log in to root account (sudo su -i) and run passwd command, you change root password not yours.
To change your password, run without sudo:
passwd
