Title: Not sure if this belongs here or..
Post by: drav on August 01, 2018, 03:08:32 AM
Ok so I have tried my hardest for 3 weeks trying to get gaming running on my pc and despite my best efforts it's a no go. So I want to remove linux and forget about dual booting and just go with windows. I know it's a very unpopular decision and I know many people will hate on me for it but so be it. The problem I have run into is I can't find an answer to my removal issue. I have asked in windows forums and have been told there is only one way to fix my mbr and get rid of the linux boot loader. That way is to use windows command prompt through the advanced boot screen and use the bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot. This has not worked and says that it cannot find the file. They suggested I ask here and see if anyone here has any idea if the loader is different and can be removed another way. TBH I don't expect to get help here but it's worth a shot.

Note - If you were using Sparky 5 it might have been a bit too much.  Sparky 4 or a Debian Stable using the non-free iso might have been easier.
