Title: Problem after System upgrade
Post by: x47aw on August 16, 2020, 10:19:43 AM
Hello,
I have a problem,
Yesterday evening I performed the system upgrade (via the menu System / System upgrade) (Sparky Linux 5.9 Open Box
64 Bit )
There something went wrong.
The process got stuck when unzipping files.
Closed this window after 2 hours.
Then I could neither start the web browser (unknown error) nor could I shut down the computer because a password was requested. Which I don't have.
I now get to the login screen when I restart, but the computer no longer accepts my password as a user.
How do I fix it again?

Try:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt install -f

How do I get to Terminal?
I only get to the login screen.
My password is not accepted there.

Launch your OS with rescue mode and login as root.

I carried out orders.
But it still doesn't work.
My password is not accepted on the login screen.
Can I recreate this somehow?

Download and use Sparky Rescue edition in live session.
Then use Chrooter application which lets you chroot to your broken filesystem as root with no password.
Then create new password:
passwd yournick
