Suggestions / Sparkylinux for cybersec

Hello , i was searching for a light debian distro to set me free from kali and parrot os.
I did try a lot of distro but no success until i installed sparkylinux.
i have easyly installed:

everything work very well.and it is VERY STABLE.
I think it can be a good idea to make a cyber security version because this way it will be easy to update tools and it is really stable !

Sparky applications / Applications not being display...

I installed Sparky Linux 7.1 (Mate DE, I think) onto my 8 year old laptop last night. All seemed to go well and it booted up fine. However, today when I booted it up, the Applications section of the Menu is appearing as empty. Installed apps are not being displayed there. I tried to manually create a new menu and selected all the apps to be displayed in the Applications section, but it just shows up as empty. When I click on the Favorites tab, some of the installed apps show up, but the Applications tab remains empty.

Not even sure where to begin troubleshooting this issue since I am new to Linux-based operating systems.

System upgrading / After update Grub does not fin...

Hi all,

In May I encounter the same problem and solved it - because of pavroo.
This time i tried the same solution,
add GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false at the end of /etc/default/grub file
and then sudo update-grub

but now i have an error
/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 1: /etc/default/grub: �#: not found

I'd prefer not to have to reinstall the system...
