Hello. I am Lawrence. I live in the United States. I on two older netbook computers: an Asus EeePc 1000 purchased on January 20, 2009 and a ZaReason Teo purchased on July 7, 2010. Both of these are in like-new physical shape. They are both 32-bit machines, both with 2 GB of RAM.

I have tried many different operating systems on them with varying degrees of satisfaction. Until now all those I have tried were "fixed" operating systems.

As I have been generaly dissatisfied with "fixed-release" systems, I wanted to install a "rolling-release" type of OS, though there are very few which support 32-bit machines. I tried CalculateLinux but I was not happy with it (it takes too long to update). Then I tried openSUSE but that left quite a bit to be desired (few or no video codecs and no easy way to install them). Then I tried SparkyLinux. While it worked perfectly on the Asus, it did not work well on the ZaReason. Specifically it took ten (10) minutes to boot on that netbook!

Recently I read on your site about your improvements in version 5.6.2 so I downloaded it. I re-installed the system on both of those netbooks (even though I had already installed the previous version - updating those versions didn't seem to do very much about improving the slow booting on the ZaReason -and even though it was working well on the Asus) and I copied the two "sudo" commands you show and pasted them into the Terminal.

Your site was absolutely right. You have improved the system just as you claimed. I am very glad that I downloaded and (re-)installed it onto both computers.

Now SparkyLinux works perfectly on both of these netbooks and I am very pleased. SparkyLinux comes with every program that I like to use and, if there are any others I wish to try, I can easily install them. But, for right now, SparkyLinux is perfect for me right out of the box.

I hope you'll keep up the good work.

Thank you for creating this operating system and for making it available to everyone.
