Nov 2016 slushy freeze of Debian

Warmest weather I have seen up here in Winterpeg, Manisnowba CA for Novermber, and a very weird freeze for the "Stretch" to stable for  this version of Testing.  Calibre disappeared from testing (2.7.1 is really sweet up in sid, sigh) and I was reconciling myself to being maxed out at QT5 5.61. I can live with the calibre binaries from Kovid Goyal, very few people I trust with binaries.  November 5th was supposed to be the "Transition Freeze"  The most pertinent page about that is        https://release.debian.org/transitions/

When QT5.71 hit sid - it dribbled in and people in a rush had to deal with the having a mixture of 5.61 and 5.71 until all the components came in.   But, but, hey here is QT 5.71 arriving  to Sparky and Debian Testing.  And only 4 days after release, one day sooner than normal.  Myself, I will wait a day and see if others are successful, it is a day early.  Today is still Nov 25 here, and 5.7.1~20161021+dfsg-5]

And over in Sid, things are supposed to slow down a little also.  Oh no, no - libxtables 11 to 12 hit some people (including me, but easily fixed) with no or damged network connection, Xorg is going from 1.18 to 1.19 and some people had no gui to fix. Some had both problems.   And there is a transition to GCC6 going on.  Should be interesting what does come down in the next few days. Hey, I might still get calibre back.

peace out.
