Can't access Conky configuration files in Xfce.

Hi, I've activated Conky through APTus Extra on a fresh Xfce install.  When I try to access the Conky Manager, I get an terminal window with nano displaying an empty file.  I close that.  I'm then presented with the Conky Manager GUI.  Nothing happens when I try to access "Edit Sparky Conky configuration file".  How do I access this file  ;)?
Backup, Backup, Backup.  If you're missing any of these, you ain't backed up.

Show me:
apt-cache policy sparky-conky
apt-cache policy conky
ls -l /opt/conky
cat /opt/conky/conky-sparky.conf

Does it work anyway with sparky configuration?
If not, reboot.

andy@the_machine:~$[/spoiler]I can manually edit:sudo <text-editor> /opt/conky/conky-sparky.confAll the options work in the GUI except the conky-sparky.conf.  See image below.

What is your system locale?
Maybe there is something wrong with the sparky-conky locale file or it's configurationn.

Sorry, I'm not understanding the question.

Sorry about that.  It was a long day and it was "stupid O'clock" in the morning here  :D.  Yeah, my locale is:andy@the_machine:~$ cat /etc/default/locale
LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
andy@the_machine:~$
I've figured out the problem.  I've removed the mousepad text editor and installed pluma in its place.  It would have been gedit but the new version in the Testing Repo is, HORRIBLE  :(.  The old version was my favourite editor.  Typing out mousepad to open the text editor was driving nuts  ;D.  Anyway, I reinstalled mousepad and the GUI now works.  Okay, here's to my next question.  Where is the script to open the GUI located, so I can edit it to open pluma by default?   Would you like me to open another thread for this question  ;)?

The file is:
/usr/bin/sparky-conky
Simply change:
if [ -f /opt/sparky/sparky-editor ]; then
. /opt/sparky/sparky-editor
else
SPARKYEDITOR="gnome-text-editor"
fi

to:
SPARKYEDITOR="/usr/bin/your-editor"
There is a newer version of sparky-conky in the repos now, so upgrade it first, than make your changes.
