I test-launch an ISO live while disconnected from the internet :| and review internet-related settings, such as for browser and update. Testing a couple of new ISOs recently, after failure to "phone home" (due to the lack of internet connection), there was neither display of an explanatory :( (error?) message nor any (apparent) return to the parent process :o just (abnormal?) termination - and thus access to update settings was :x  prevented.

What exactly you can't do with web browser?

Talking about Synaptic - I have posted it somewhere on the forum already.

There is a small bug (in Sparky 3.3 only) - remove as root the file: /etc/lsb-release

What exactly version have you been testing? What desktop, 32/64 bit?

I think everything is fine.

Synaptic will reload repository list after installing Sparky on a hard drive and removing lsb-release file. It needs to rebuild intramfs and/or grub list as well, to let the system be recognized as Debian not Sparky.

The terminal issue - the root password is blank, means you can't log in as root.

To do so run:

Code:

sudo su
passwd

It will let you create the root password.

Anyway you can run applications with sudo command to get root access as well.

Looks like :)

Terminal is not a bug but Reload option in Synaptic is.

It'll be fixed in sparky 3.4 soon.

Hope shall fuel my patience. (Wonder if it's an upstream issue ... ?)
