I just installed the latest Sparkylinux Openbox edition and the first thing I noticed is that I can't update-upgrade my distro or go online to access the internet. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

I do have my Ethernet cable plugged in, and I know it works because I use other distros on my computer with no network problems.

Can you try to reconfigure your network connection via Menu-> Network (Ceni)?

I will try that but I was wondering if there are any terminal commands I can use that will let me know what the status is of my network connection.

Thanks!!!

You can use 'ping', for example:

Code:

ping -c 3 google.com

I have found a small bug in the 'new' installer.

After hard drive installation run the command as root:

Code:

ln -s /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

Then reconfigure the network.

Anyway the 'old' installer is free of the bug.

Hi Pavroo!

Just wanted to let you know that I burned the new iso to CD and reinstalled SparkyLinux. Works fine now and is very fast. Thanks again!!
