Hello.

I just noticed that the 3.2 release of SparkyLinux (MATE 486)  does not seem to support some of my keyboard functions, specifically things like Volume up & down.  I am pretty sure it worked in previous releases but not certain.

I have a "FN" key that does screen locking, brightness up & down, volume control, muting, screen switching, suspend/hibernate, etc. depending on what other key I press.  FN+3 is volume down, FN+4 is volume up, FN+F6 increases brightness, FN+F7 decreases.

None of these FN+commands are working anymore.

This is on a Toshiba Satellite C655

I tried a fresh install and various stages of updates, no luck.

Any suggestions of what to try?

Thanks

Hi

There is a tool called 'fnfx' which lets you customize hot-keys on Satellite:

Hello.

Thank you for the reply.  I tried that to no avail.

I re-installed, logged in as root and did a "rm -f .config .mate*" on my home directory since I keep /home on a separate partition.

Once I logged in as my normal user the function keys seemed to work again.

I guess something in the configs did not carry over properly.

Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire 7740g and installed sparkylinux 3.3 LXDE yesterday. Now I have the problem that some fn functionkeys dosen't work. It's the keys for the Volume and the keys for Play/Pause etc. The key for the brightness work fine. Also the key for sleep mode. Can someone help me how to solve the Problem?

Thanks

Hi

You can reconfigure kayboard laypot and choose  different from Menu (or SparkyCenter)->System -> Keyboard Layout Settings
